A common dream is one of floating in the air. This is different from a flying dream where you’re soaring over the landscape. In this dream you’re merely hovering above a scene. What does this kind of dream mean?

It can mean that you’re detached from the event you’re watching. You may feel that you can’t influence or control the event so you’ve put yourself outside of it. This may mean that you need to think more deeply about the event and how your actions can influence it.

Another interpretation I’ve seen is one of relaxed waiting. You’ve become detached from the event and relaxed about it so that you’re no longer worried about it. This can be a good sign if something was stressing you out previously.

On a spiritual level, this can indicate out of body experiences or a premonition of death.

What are your thoughts on this dream interpretation?

This time we’ll look at dreams about nails, in this case the kind of nails that are used in woodworking, not those on your fingers and toes. How should you interpret a dream about woodworking nails?

This dream usually means that you’re searching for a way to bind things together. If the nails seem to hold well, this means that your subconscious thinks the idea is sound. If you nail things together and then they fall apart, this indicates that you subconsciously think the idea will be a failure.

Another way I’ve seen it interpreted is that a nail indicates male penetrative powers. The effectiveness of the nail can indicate either prowess or problems in this area. For some, it could indicate fear of penetration.

On a spiritual level, it most often is interpreted in Christian thought as relating to Christ’s ultimate sacrifice and pain. In other religions, it has been interpreted as meaning something that is necessary or something being brought by fate.

What are your thoughts on dreams about woodworking nails?

Perhaps at some time you’ve dreamed of boxes. May you’ve been in a box or you were putting something or someone in a box. What does this kind of dream indicate?

A common interpretation of the form of the dream where you’re boxed in is that you are being prevented from doing something or that you’re being prevented from expanding your horizons. You’re stuck in a box with no where to go.

If you dream about packing things in a box it could indicate that you’re trying to hid things away that you would rather not face. Alternatively, it could indicate that you’re packing away a problem for a later time. You just aren’t willing to cope with it at this time.

Lastly, a dream like this is common when you’re packing up to move somewhere new. The stress of moving can intrude into your dream life.

In spiritual matters, this kind of dream may indicate a degree of spiritual restraint or doubt. Your spirituality wants to expand but it’s being boxed in.

How would you interpret this kind of dream?

Have you ever dreamed about bubbles? About blowing bubbles or playing with bubbles?

Dreaming about bubbles may indicate a desire for childlike fun. Our desire for a return to childhood fun can be reflected in dreams about simple things, like the joy of blowing bubbles. Or it could be something more adult, such as relaxing in a bubble bath.

Sometimes our minds need the illusion of happy times to help cope with stress. If you’re feeling stressed about work or other ‘grown-up’ task, such a dream that takes you back to childhood may be your mind trying to deal with it.

Often such dreams will dissolve into the stressful situation we want to avoid, thus reflecting the temporary nature of the escape. Bubbles, since they’re transitory, indicate to us that although we can escape the stress temporarily, it will still be with us. Perhaps this is our mind trying to get us to face the stressful situation.

On a spiritual level, bubbles also illustrate the temporary or the illusionary aspects of life. There can be a temporary relief but the problem still exists.

Do you have any thoughts or other interpretations about dreams about bubbles? Please share them if you do.

A dream is a sequence of hallucinatory experiences that may have a some coherence but that are also often bizarre that occur primarily during the Rapid Eye Movement, or REM, part of sleep. The experiences may include images, sounds and other sensations. A simple explanation for a complex phenomena that has baffled mankind for centuries, isn’t it?

Some people discount dreams as mere ‘white noise’ of the mind, meaningless. Others think that dreams offer an insight into the psyche of the dreamer. Some think that dreams are a way that the brain trains itself internally. Some believe that dreams have a spiritual meaning.

My own thinking is that dreams are often the mind’s way of coping with various experiences a person has encountered in their life or that they wish, consciously or subconsciously, to happen or not happen in their life. I don’t discount spiritual meaning in dreams, that’s something personal to the individual who experiences it.

What are your thoughts on dreams and what they represent?
